YES, diesel comes from gas. So it should be on the down slide. Costing us all at the store for everything.

It needs to slide a lot to match the price of gas. (most of diesel price is greed).. Because they know truckers have to have fuel..

Diesel is very low compared to a few months ago. It's about $4.39 and that's about a dollar cheaper.

Can we get more diesel refineries ? Ever since diesel was switched from low sulfur to ultra low sulfur the price really increased. Not everyone is producing ULSD.

JDCOWBOY has is right.
The "cleaner" we make a fuel, the worse it is for the enviroment. SInce "cleaner fuels" actually use MORE OIL than the dirty ones. And if you consider every gallon of oil contains the same number of hydro carbon atoms, we actually put out MORE CO2 by consuming more oil. (you can't change the laws of Physics!) We would be better off as a nation if we went back to the old diesel standards. And the sulfer does not simply dissapear. It now gets added to fertilizers, and other things (it's an element, you can't get rid of it). So it's still ending up in the air/water/soil. This is what happens when politicians (who didn't take a single Chemistry/Physics course) start dictating laws. So when you vote this fall, vote for someone who does not have a poly-sci degree, but someone who has an engineering degree. MN has a candidate for first district Congress who is an MD, with degrees in Nuke Physics, and Masters in Mechanical Engineering. This is the type of guy we need in Washington!

Don't blame the sulfur content for the diesel pricing problem. This step adds less than 5 cents to the gallon price. Besides, lowering the sulfur content merely put the US on par with much of the rest of the world - they aren't all whackos are they?
Still, it's sad to hear of people losing their livelihood. But it's a facet of the free market.
